The 2008 GMC Yukon XL retains the GMT900 platform used in the previous year’s Yukon as a part of this new generation of Yukon’s. The three engine choices haven’t changed as they have proven to be the best performing and efficient engines ever put into a Yukon XL. All 2008 GMC Yukon XL versions standard with a 4-speed automatic or 6-speed automatic on certain models.

Engine Choices:

  • 5.3L Vortec V-8 producing 310HP and 335FTLB of torque or 320HP and 340FTLB of torque for the four-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive platforms respectively.

  • 6.2L Vortec V-8 that pushes 380HP and 417FTLB of torque for both rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive variants.

  • 6.0L Vortec V-8 on the 2500 variant that produces 352HP and 383FTLB of torque for either the rear-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive versions.

2007 GMC Yukon XL

The 2007 GMC Yukon XL went under heavy refinement for the 2007 model year, bring introduced on the GMT900 platform with improvements to the styling and overall design of the vehicle to compete stronger as a luxury sport utility vehicle.

The 2007 GMC Yukon XL has improved engine choices for this year: Starting with the base model, the new 5.3L Vortec V-8 now produces 320HP and 340FTLB of torque. Moving onto the mid-level engine, the upgraded 6.0L Vortec 6000 V-8 engine that pushes 366HP and 380FTLB of torque.

The high-end performance-based engine is the new 6.2L Vortec V-8 that has 380HP and 420FTLB of torque lurking beneath the hood.

Along with restyled interior and exterior, a new dashboard along with redesigned aerodynamics makes this Yukon the best yet.

2005 GMC Yukon XL

The 2005 GMC Yukon XL is GM’s is one of the largest Sport Utility Vehicles on the market and this year it comes with features that can easily classify it as a luxury vehicle.

Engine choices for the 2005 GMC Yukon XL come in three distinct flavors: A base model 5.3L V-8 that produces 285HP and 335FTLB of torque, a mid-level engine which comes in the form of a 6.0L V-8 that produces 335HP and 375FTLB of torque, than the performance-based 8.1L V-8 pushing an incredible 325HP and 447FTLB of torque.

For the first time on the GMC Yukon XL, GM has made Stability Control standard on all models to improve safety and security of the driver and occupants while a Navigational System with GPS was made as a luxury option for this model year.
