The 2008 GMC Yukon XL retains the GMT900 platform used in the previous year’s Yukon as a part of this new generation of Yukon’s. The three engine choices haven’t changed as they have proven to be the best performing and efficient engines ever put into a Yukon XL. All 2008 GMC Yukon XL versions standard with a 4-speed automatic or 6-speed automatic on certain models.

Engine Choices:

  • 5.3L Vortec V-8 producing 310HP and 335FTLB of torque or 320HP and 340FTLB of torque for the four-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive platforms respectively.

  • 6.2L Vortec V-8 that pushes 380HP and 417FTLB of torque for both rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive variants.

  • 6.0L Vortec V-8 on the 2500 variant that produces 352HP and 383FTLB of torque for either the rear-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive versions.
